David Mejias, fighting for you and your family

David L. Mejias, founder of Mejias, Milgrim, & Alvarado, is an attorney specializing in domestic violence and child abuse. In 2003 he overcame the odds and was elected to the Nassau County Legislature. Since taking office he has passed a law allowing law enforcement officials to use the same technology that child offenders use to prey on children in an attempt to catch them in the act. He has also sponsored legislation to restrict the residency of convicted sex offenders in the area.

Dave Mejias has been named one of "40 Rising Stars Under 40" by Long Island Business News and one of the top "50 Most Powerful and Influential Long Islanders" four years in a row by the Long Island Press Power List. He has also been recognized by the Coalition Against Domestic violence for fighting for the rights of domestic violence victims.

He's also taken on a number of matrimonial and personal injury cases, in which he shows just as much care and compassion for the client, as he understands how devastating these cases can be.

In each case David handles he considers important, and always places the client first. He himself is familiar with family tragedy, so he understands how important having someone who cares fight for your rights as a victim.

His own experience with tragedy

David's passion in protecting one's family came from a personal experience at the age of 13. At that age, his father passed due to the negligence of another driver on the road. Since this incident he has taken it upon himself to protect other families from the same emotional and financial distress that he himself endured.
